From Paralysis to Parenthood

Tammy Voynik gave birth to her first child, Joseph, at 31 and two years later to Anna Kate. Sixteen years earlier, after a car accident left her paralyzed, she feared she would never be a mother.

Chris Blount serves as executive director of the Wilson Research Foundation, which connects state-of-the-art research to state-of-the-art patient care at Methodist Rehabilitation Center. The foundation's role is to sustain and grow the programs that make Methodist Rehab Center a regional and national center of excellence. Since its inception, the foundation has contributed more than $4 million to patient-focused research that drives innovation and effective treatments at the center. 

The foundation is conducting a fundraising campaign to sustain and expand the research program as well as cutting-edge technology used for therapy and research.      

Blount is chairman of the communications commission of the United Methodist Church (Mississippi Conference.) He also serves on the board of directors of Goodwill Industries and he is president-elect of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (Mississippi Chapter). Blount holds two undergraduate degrees from Centenary College of Louisiana.
